You might have noticed a new name and face cropping up on our website and social media channels these last few months.
Jessica Laudicina has been interning with us for the better part of the summer, and has had her hands in quite a few of our projects, including several of our spring and summer fashion photo shoots. She did such a fantastic job we decided to have her design a shoot of her own! For her shoot, she chose to focus on casual street style, with an emphasis on diversity. Jessica wanted to highlight Eye’s Gallery’s eclectic and varied styles. In her words, “Eye’s Gallery has something for everyone.” We love what she did!
Born in Panama and raised in South Jersey, Jessica is currently a student at Moore College of Art and Design majoring in Photography and Digital Arts and minoring in Creative Writing. She’s ultimately interested in pursuing fashion photography or in photographing wildlife for National Geographic. She is currently in the process of writing a series of sci-fi novels that interconnect, and may someday want to write screenplays as well. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys watching Wes Anderson movies and making crafts. She loves going to the boardwalk, trying new things, and exploring Philly. Her favorite artists are the photographers Richard Avedon and Katerina Plotnikova, both of whom, she has said, have greatly influenced her artistically. She especially values the immediacy and authenticity of Avedon’s portraits, and the fact that Plotnikova uses real wild animals with her models to create fairytale-esque scenes. She also credits Nigel Barker of America’s Next Top Model fame for teaching her how to talk to and direct models.
While we are sad Jess’s time as an intern has now come to an end, we are happy and excited to announce that she will be returning to work with us as an employee in the very near future. We just couldn’t let her go!
