Since 1999, Julia Zagar of Eye’s Gallery and Deb Colburn of Nomad have combined their 50+ years of expert experience, knowledge and love for the art and culture of Mexico to share with fellow travelers.

Traveling in a small group, you’ll get to experience this country as only we know it – combining art, culture, shopping and lots of fun! We visit all the best places, including artisans in their homes, small villages, regional fiestas, off-beat museums and markets as well as tour archaeological sites. You’ll get to take part in cooking classes, meet with experts in various fields of anthropology and much more!

This year we decided to focus our tour on two different areas of Mexico that are very closely connected. We are taking you to Chiapas and to the Yucatan! These southern regions of Mexico are not big tourist areas, but contain the richness of Mexican life. One is the heart of the Mayan empire, where ancient cultural traditions still run strong. The other is the grandeur of the European influences of culture, trade, and commerce. We’ve put together a tour of places of things that we both love and would like to share with you. We also want to reinforce that you will be safe with us and be welcomed by our many Mexican friends who are going to host us in their homes, and give us an insider’s look at the best restaurants, museums, shops, and historical sites.
