The Wrapping of the Quetzalcoatl


Quetzalcoatl is a Mesoamerican deity that comes from the Nahuatl language meaning “plumed serpent.”  The worship of Quetzalcoatl was first documented in Teotihuacan between the first centuries BC and AD. This week, one of our particularly elaborate renditions by the famed papier mache artist Joel Garcia needed to be prepared for its new home in Connecticut.  As such, Julia and Devin took to the task, with Jean-Claude et Christo-like precision and artistry:
