Valentine’s was a busy day in Eye’s Gallery! Somewhat frantic boyfriends and husbands scoured the three floors for last minute gifts and lots of ladies came in to get something sweet for themselves. Stacey found two beautiful, framed cherub drawings in the basement. Next to her is an antique Indian statue of Krishna we already packed – how fitting to bring home the God of love on Valentine’s Day!

Dexter delighted us with his pretty pink collar!

He was super curious about everything we have and kept jumping on the counter. Awww! :)

Thousands of tattoo lovers gather from around the country at Pennsylvania Convention Center this weekend for the Philadelphia Tattoo Arts Convention. They have music, burlesque, pin-up and tattoo contests and about 300 world’s best tattoo artists ready to get under your skin.

In Eye’s Gallery we feel the ink tsunami approaching and already yesterday had bunch of tattoo artists and convention goers browse our three floors of inspirational art, clothing and jewelry.

This Steampunk Gramophone vanity case art is made by the LA Ink star and famous tattoo artist Hannah Aitchison. I heard the waiting list to get a tattoo by her ranges from 6 months to 2 years. Good news is, you can get this vanity case today. AND, it’s on sale for $27 (was $36)!

Emotions are heating up here on the second floor of Eye’s Gallery. Our Bachelor and Bachelorette are having a hard time choosing their dates among the many stunning, peculiar and one-of-a-kind candidates. What adds an extra element of excitement to the whole challenge is the fact that the candidates are thinning out – not just by our Bachelor’s and Bachelorette’s eliminations, but by our dear customers who find someone special to take home from these scenes. Ooh la la!

Drastically Pink

We’re already dreaming of February 14th. Yes, Valentine’s Day. As usual, we’re not too subtle about things here at Eye’s. Take for example this blue wall, on the right when you walk into the store:

We thought it could use a bit of this:

Yes, that’s paint. Very hot, very pink paint. And of course when we paint walls pink, we do it right! James took that white stuff and diligently created little clouds to fill up holes left by hundreds of nails, screws and push pins.

And then was pink’s turn! (The picture doesn’t completely do justice to the real color.)

Karith took some of the oil cloth we sell and cut out beautiful hearts – what a genius idea!!

She filled the hearts with passion, infatuation, secret admiration and romance and attached them to the now pink wall in gravity defying ways that only people in love can understand.

Stop by Eye’s to see the rest of our lovely pink wall and come get infatuated with our other heartwarming Valentine’s displays that are starting to manifest in a few corners of the store.

Baby Jonathan Wears Amber to Alleviate Pain

8-month-old baby Jonathan and his family came in and asked if we had any amber necklaces. They told me that Baltic amber has healing properties and so they’d like to get some for Jonathan because he is teething and in a lot of pain. Luckily we do have a big, full case dedicated for all kinds of amber jewelry, and Jonathan’s mother quickly found a perfect, small, smooth necklace for him to wear.

Jonathan, here at Eye’s Gallery we all love your smile and hope that from here on your teething goes by easily and painlessly! Doesn’t this Hanna jacket and skirt suit look great on Marissa?! She got our newsletter about the sale and wanted to stop by later – and did in fact find something awesome. The belt completes the outfit perfectly.

Valerie got a tiny, shiny green bug pin that she mentioned she’s wanted for a while.

When we had a peaceful moment in the store, James painted two ceramic cherubs that he got yesterday at Eye’s.

Our manager Carole gave Bhakti a befitting Christmas present – Angel of Peace Barbie doll. So yesterday also marked Angel’s first day at work.
