Since 1999, Julia has been leading art and cultural tours along with Deb Colburn of “NOMAD”, Cambridge.  Over the years they have led groups to Mexico, Guatemala, Peru, India, Turkey, and most recently, Cuba.  Small, intimate groups provide an insider’s experience, combining art, music, cultural history, camaraderie, shopping, and of course, lots of fun.The tours include all the key attractions of each destination, but also delve deeper into the fabric of each culture.  Participants can expect to visit artisans in their homes, explore small villages, attend regional fiestas, and visit off-beat museums, markets and archaeological sites. Cooking classes, craft workshops, and meetings with various experts in fields such as anthropology are also woven into the agenda.

Julia brought back some beautiful items from Cuba this year, including retro style graphic posters and wooden cars, a unique, hand-painted papier mache telephone, and wooden musical figurines.
